To use the Lightning applet on your web page, add the following code to your HTML:

<APPLET CODE="lightning.class" WIDTH=500 HEIGHT=100>
<PARAM NAME="DELAY" VALUE=6>
</APPLET>

The WIDTH and HEIGHT tags change the dimensions of the applet on your page (as measured in pixels). You can increase or decrease the lightning strike rate using the DELAY parameter. When the RATE parameter is 6, a strike occurs at least once every 6 seconds.

Make sure that the file lightning.class is in the same directory as your web page. The .class file is available in a zipped archive (3KB).

The source code for the applet (written using Microsoft Visual J++) is also available. You should be able to use this code with any Java compiler.
